Polyurethane is composed of a two-component resin, and its three-dimensionally linked molecular structure provides it with its mechanical stability. It is a thermosetting plastic with no solvent and meets EN 545 and ISO 2531 standards.
Applied by VonRoll, Polyurethane (PUR) protects piping made of ductile cast iron against corrosion and ensures meeting hygienic standards for drinking water.
The material is used for both the inside lining and the outside coating. PUR exhibits high elasticity and enables the lining to remain intact even if the pipe is deformed.
In comparison with other coatings, Polyurethane is proven to be highly resistant to various different media such as drinking water, waste water, de-mineralised water, industrial water and gas, as well as to aggressive solutions like sulphuric acid.
Other qualities of the product are enormously high bonding strength, low friction coefficient, dielectric resistance, high acidic resistance (between pH 1 to 14) and its international recognition by a number of boards and organisations.
